Action - SB
A gambler’s pending wagers.
Add-on
In a poker game where you add more money to your stack.
All-in – P
Betting all of your chips in one given hand
Ante – P
A forced bet paid by every player to seed the pot at the beginning of a hand.
ATS – SB
Against The Spread. Commonly used when discussing stats.
B
Bad Beat
To have a hand that is a large favorite and lose. Commonly used when a player with a weak hand makes a poor call and eventually gets very lucky by hitting a card that makes his longshot and wins.
Bankroll
The amount of money that a player has to support their gambling activities.
Betting Line – SB
The odds or the point spreads for an upcoming event.
Blind Bet – P
A bet that a player makes before he sees his next card.
Bookie – SB
Short for the term bookmaker, this is the person who takes wagers from bettors.
Buck

Burn Card
Discarding the top card from the deck. This is done between each betting round before putting out the next community cards. It is done for security to prevent players from catching a glimpse at the next card to come.
