Heads Up – P
A game involving only two players.

Hedge – SB
To place bets on opposite sides of an event to minimize a loss or to guarantee a win.

High Roller
A high stakes gambler.

House
Casino or anyone that operates a betting game.

Juice – SB
Commission paid to a bookie by a gambler on a losing sports bet.

Lay – SB
To make a bet.

Laying the Points – SB
Betting on a favorite.

Lay Off – SB
When a bookmaker makes bets with another bookmaker to help balance the excess action he has accepted from his customers.

Leak – P
A hole in someones playing technique or strategy.

Line – SB
The odds or point spread for a game.

Lock – SB
A guaranteed winner.

Loose - C
Slot machines that have generous payouts.

Marker
Basically an IOU that can be written at the table by a player who has credit with the casino.

Mechanic
A dealer who cheats by using sleight of hand to prearrange the cards.

Money Line – SB
The amount of money you must risk on a favorite to win $100, or the amount you win on an underdog if you risk $100.

Moving the Line – SB
A bookmaker making changes to the line based on the volume of action he is receiving or other factors such as injuries.
